This specialty Organic Sencha green tea comes direct from farms in Uji, Japan. Ujicha is highly regarded in flavor due to growing in rich soil and pure water from the Uji and Kizu rivers. The deep valleys create great temperature ranges between night and day, resulting in fog that protects the delicate buds from frost. Sencha is grown in full sun. New buds are hand picked, steamed and carefully kneaded as they dry.
Tea has been cultivated and enjoyed in this region of Kyoto for over 500 years. We are honored to be able to offer this freshly harvested tea from our families' homeland and ancestry.

Caffeine Level: Medium
Flavor: A delicately sweet, herbaceous aroma emanates from the long, flat, naturally dark emerald tea leaves. The medium-light body of this infusion results in a lingering,slightly astringent and grassy flavor.
Brewing: 1 tsp tea leaves + 8 oz soft boiled water. Steep 2-3 minutes. Re-steep a few times to make the most of these flavorful leaves.
